Chiefs’ Chris Jones Nailed Perfect Cris Collinsworth Impression During Game
“Super Bowl champion” and “All-Pro” are two terms that have come to describe Kansas City Chiefs star undefined, but after revealing his hidden talent, the defensive tackle may now need to add another moniker to his name.
Well, that is, if you consider Jones’s hilarious impression of NBC analyst Cris Collinsworth as worthy of a side career as a “part-time impressionist.”
Over the years, Collinsworth’s signature voice has been the subject of many impressions, a run that may have peaked with Inside the NFL’s release of Jones’s rendition of the receiver-turned-broadcaster talking up Patrick Mahomes from this season.
“Listen guys,” Jones began in his best Collinsworth-esque tone. “We’re talking about a guy, Patrick Mahomes, who’s been throwing the ball since he was eight years old. That’s Cris Collinsworth.”
While his take may have omitted Collinsworth’s famous “Now, here’s a guy” intro, it’s fair to say Jones did a solid job sticking the landing.
If anything, the 29-year-old’s impression is certainly one to watch, and may even warrant repeat viewing leading up to the Chiefs’s divisional round matchup against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.
