Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce addressed reports about him potentially retiring on the latest episode of his New Heights podcast.

Kelce, who appeared extra emotional in the closing moments of a blowout loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Monday night, reportedly informed teammates of his decision to retire after the game, per ESPN. But Kelce pushed back a bit on that report, saying he did address the team after the game but that he’ll make a more definitive announcement on his future in the league soon.

“I didn’t announce what I was doing on purpose, despite what has been leaked to the media,” Kelce said. “I just don’t think you’re in a position after a game like that to really make that decision… there’s too much emotion in the moment to fully grasp that decision.”

Kelce didn’t provide any insight about a timeline for a final decision other than that he doesn’t want to draw things out, but did provide some color on what an announcement will look like.

“When it’s time to announce what’s happening in the future, it will be done in a way that’s definitive and pays respect to a lot of people and individuals that have meant a lot to me,” Kelce said. “I don’t think it would be respectful or even accurate to be able to do it right after a game like that."

Then, the legendary center got emotional talking about what could have been his final message to the team.

“A lot of guys were like ‘If that is your last game, I feel sorry for you,’” Kelce said as he tried to hold back tears. “Don’t feel sorry for me, motherf---er.”

The clip naturally sparked plenty of social media reaction:
