Maxx Crosby Shares Positive Two-Word Response to Raiders Hiring Antonio Pierce
The Las Vegas Raiders' 2023 season can be divided neatly into two parts.
First came the 3–5 start under coach Josh McDaniels, who was fired along with general manager Dave Ziegler on Nov. 1. Then came the 5–4 finish under interim coach Antonio Pierce, around whom players rallied as the Raiders beat all three of their division rivals in a four-week span.
Las Vegas chose to try and replicate the latter going forward, reportedly hiring Pierce as its head coach Friday. That was a decision that quickly won the blessing of the team's star, defensive end Maxx Crosby.
"Let's Work!!" an eager Crosby wrote on social media Friday afternoon.
Crosby produced another stellar season in '23, registering 14.5 sacks and leading the league in tackles for loss for a second straight year. The Eastern Michigan product was voted into the Pro Bowl and named to the second All-Pro team.
Whether the Raiders can break through and make the playoffs under Pierce—something the team has done just twice in the last two decades—remains to be seen.
