Tony Romo may have taken one of his jokes about Taylor Swift a little too far.

During the CBS broadcast of the Kansas City ChiefsBuffalo Bills divisional round playoff game, the cameras showed Jason Kelce hanging out with Swift in a suite at Highmark Stadium, at which point Romo erroneously referred to Jason as Swift’s “brother-in-law.”

“There's your brother-in-law right behind you,” Romo said to Swift, chuckling at the end.

Had this been the first time Romo made an incorrect comment related to Swift, maybe it wouldn’t be such a big deal. But this marks at least the third time the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback has implied that Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are married on a live broadcast.

Romo corrected himself when he called Swift “Travis Kelce’s wife” during Week 14’s Chiefs-Bills game on Dec. 10. Romo did it again two weeks later when the Chiefs played the Las Vegas Raiders on Christmas Day.

On Sunday, Romo, who clearly hasn’t learned from his announcing gaffe, was yet again telling thousands of viewers on live television that the Chiefs tight end and Eras Tour pop star are hitched. Perhaps Romo was just performing his own bit or shtick to troll the casual NFL fan, or perhaps the seventh-year analyst truly does believe the two are husband and wife. Regardless, the situation still reads as very strange.

For the record, Kelce and Swift are not married. Kelce and Swift’s love story may have started with a friendship bracelet last summer, but there’s no indication so far it will end with a ring.

Kelce appears preoccupied at the moment chasing a very different ring as the Chiefs gear up to face the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC championship game at 3 p.m. ET next Sunday.
