Travis Kelce Explained Why Heart Hand Celebration After TD vs. Bills Wasn’t for Taylor Swift
Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce wants to clear something up.
When Kelce put up heart hands in a touchdown celebration in his team's 27—24 playoff win over the Buffalo Bills, many assumed the sweet gesture was intended for his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, who makes that same hand gesture during her concert performances.
Turns out, Kelce just wanted to “spread the love.”
“Yeah man, had to spread the love, baby! You always gotta spread that love, baby,” Travis Kelce told his brother, Jason, on Wednesday’s episode of New Heights. “There was a lot of hate pulling up to that stadium, man.”
One fan’s angle of Kelce’s celebration on Sunday clearly showed that the two-time Super Bowl champ did his heart hands toward the Bills fans’ section at Highmark Stadium, not the suite from which Swift was watching.
“The Bills, coming into their house, they want to make it rowdy,” continued Kelce. “Did it get a little disrespectful? One thousand percent. Did it get a little extra? One thousand percent.”
From a young fan trolling Swift before the game to a bare-chested Jason Kelce roaring in the stands to the Bills crowd pelting players with snowballs, the Chiefs—Bills playoff matchup was always going to be an all-time classic. This one just had a little extra love sprinkled on top of a fiercely competitive rivalry.
