Kurt Warner Goes Viral for Reply to Steelers Fan’s Vote for Greatest Super Bowl Play
Super Bowl history is full of iconic plays, which means that everyone will have their personal preference for the best play ever. However, on the opposite side of every play is a team or player that gets the short end of the stick, something that former quarterback Kurt Warner knows all too well.
On Tuesday, one Pittsburgh Steelers fan pegged James Harrison’s interception return for a touchdown of Warner in Super Bowl 43 vs. the Arizona Cardinals as the best play in the game’s history. Warner saw that post on social media and politely disagreed with that fan’s opinion.
“Kind of depends on who you ask!!!!” Warner said in response.
Warner and the Cardinals ultimately lost Super Bowl 43 in heartbreaking fashion by a score of 27-23, and that interception on the goal line was a massive moment in the game. Arizona had a chance to go up 14-10 entering halftime, but Harrison single-handedly flipped momentum and gave Pittsburgh a 17-7 advantage at the break.
Instead of this play, Warner likely prefers a play from the one championship he did win as a member of the St. Louis Rams against the Tennessee Titans in Super Bowl 34. Whether it was the Isaac Bruce touchdown to give the Rams the win or the Mike Jones score to win the game, both plays were surely the ones Warner would love to talk about over Harrison’s interception.
