Chiefs’ Andy Reid Met Taylor Swift Years Before Travis Kelce, as It Turns Out
What if I told you that Travis Kelce was not the first member of the Kansas City Chiefs organization to meet pop star Taylor Swift?
It's an idea that, much like the Chiefs' run to the Super Bowl after this year's unprecedented regular season struggles, seems improbable.
But it's true.
None other than Chiefs coach Andy Reid, who shared a sweet moment with Swift after the team's AFC title game win, was the first to meet the 12-time Grammy award winner and Kelce's girlfriend. Reid discussed when he first met Swift—and how annoyed it made Kelce that he met her first—during an appearance on the Let's Go podcast with Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray.
"I knew her before from Philadelphia. Her dad played at Delaware and was a big football fan—good guy. So I had met him there—and her. That was the last thing Trav wanted to hear, that I knew her before him," Reid said.
It truly is a small world. Knowing this now makes Reid's joke that he set the couple up even funnier.
It’s also pretty amusing that Swift told Kelce that she knew his coach—and that this fact ruined the star tight end’s day. Now, the whole world will have a little less than two weeks to process this information before the Chiefs take on the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl.
