Ravens’ Mark Andrews Praised for Helping With Medical Emergency on Flight
For six years now, Baltimore Ravens tight end Mark Andrews has been one of the most reliable players at his position in the NFL. Taken in the same draft as quarterback Lamar Jackson, the Oklahoma product has developed a reputation as the 2019 MVP's go-to target.
However, Andrews may have made the biggest play of his career Thursday on a flight from Baltimore to Phoenix.
In a story recounted by social media user Andrew Springs, Andrews's quick thinking helped save a woman's life. As Springs recounted, a woman suffered a medical emergency during the flight that Andrews helped medical professionals work out was due to low blood sugar.
Andrews then produced his diabetic testing kit and her heart rate eventually stabilized.
A humble Andrews downplayed his actions in an official statement from the Ravens.
"In addition to the fast-acting flight attendants, the real heroes are the nurse and doctor who happened to be on the plane. Thankfully they were able to provide the woman the quick assistance she needed," he said.
