Super Bowl LVIII opening night got underway in Las Vegas on Monday ahead of the clash between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers at Allegiant Stadium on Sunday.

Amid the many interviews, the quarterbacks for both teams, Patrick Mahomes and Brock Purdy, took to the stage for a fun interview with Scott Hanson of the NFL Network.

It didn’t take long in the interview for the topic of Taylor Swift to be broached, as Hanson asked Purdy a question about the pop superstar, who is dating Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.

“It if comes down to it, Brock, and it’s late in the fourth quarter. Are you prepared to disappoint Taylor Swift?” Hanson asked Purdy.

“Yes,” replied San Francisco’s quarterback, without hesitation. “I’ll leave it at that.”

Hanson jokingly warned him that Swift might write a song about him in retaliation for denying the Chiefs a Super Bowl win. Still, Purdy made clear that if a Super Bowl win is on the line late in the game, the feelings of Swift, who figures to be watching from a suite at the Las Vegas stadium, will be the least of his concerns.
