If you watched any NFL games this season, you likely saw something happening way too often—refs being bad at their jobs.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell met with the media in Las Vegas on Monday ahead of Super Bowl LVIII, and he was asked by CBS’s Tracy Wolfson about the state of the referees in his league and what the NFL could do to improve things.

Goodell predictably towed the company line with his answer and commended the officials, saying they’re doing a great job. He mentioned how they are under a lot of scrutiny and that nobody is perfect.
