Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo recently told the Dallas Morning News that he believes the team will “break through” in the playoffs in the near future, possibly even resulting in a Super Bowl title.

The NFL analyst never made it past the divisional round, a curse that has haunted the Cowboys since they won the Super Bowl in 1995. This fact sparked a rant by ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith on Thursday morning’s First Take. As normal, Smith did not hold back his thoughts on Romo’s comments.

“What’s wrong with you, Tony Romo?” Smith said. “What the hell is wrong with you? You of all people. When he was a quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys you didn’t get the job done. What are you talking about? ‘At some point we’re gonna break through.’ You that some point! You once were! You didn’t get it done!

“People who don’t get it done, don’t need to be talking about people needing to get it done.”

Smith is known for bashing the Cowboys over the years, so it was fitting that he’d be the analyst to rant about Romo’s hope in the Cowboys’ future.
