Patrick Mahomes has the Kansas City Chiefs back in the Super Bowl for the fourth time in five years and a win over the San Francisco 49ers would give the 28-year-old QB his third championship ring.

While we all know Mahomes has become one of the best passers in NFL history, he’s also been able to hurt teams in key moments by making plays with his legs, running away from trouble, and picking up huge first downs and sometimes even touchdowns.

Super Bowl 2024: Latest news and analysis

He was asked Wednesday about his running style and Mahomes had some fun with his answer, saying it might not look the prettiest but that he gets the job done:

“I think I’ve gotten better in my running form and faster as I’ve been in the NFL but it doesn’t look the prettiest so I think people think I’m slow,” Mahomes said. “I think it’s kind of deceptive. Sometimes I think the defense takes bad angles because they think they’re going to catch me faster than they do. Maybe that’s the secret to my speed is that I run not the way everybody else runs.”

The 49ers will have to stop Mahomes from making plays through the air and on the ground if they want to win Super Bowl LVIII.
