It wasn’t too long ago when quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo helped the San Francisco 49ers build a 10-point fourth-quarter lead over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIV.

What happened next, of course, still lives in infamy among the 49ers faithful. 

Kansas City scored 21 unanswered points in the final 6:13 of the game to clinch quarterback Patrick Mahomes’s second career championship and to further delay San Francisco’s hunt for its sixth Super Bowl title.

Four (very long) years later, the 49ers and Chiefs are meeting again in Super Bowl LVIII. And Garoppolo, now with the Las Vegas Raiders, did not make many friends with his former team’s fan base when he spoke to Niners Nation and revealed his pick to win the big game.

Oof. 

NFL fans are well versed in Garoppolo’s shortcomings in the fourth quarter of Super Bowl LIV—most notably, his misfire on an open deep ball to Emmanuel Sanders and taking a sack on fourth down in the final two minutes.
