Fans Dunked on Troy Aikman’s Old Tweet About Patrick Mahomes After Chiefs’ Super Bowl Win

The internet had an absolute field day with the ESPN analyst and Dallas Cowboys legend.

Sadly for Troy Aikman, the internet never forgets.

Immediately after Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes beat the San Francisco 49ers to win his third Super Bowl on Sunday night, NFL fans scoured the internet and resurfaced an old post from the ESPN commentator and Dallas Cowboys legend that aged like milk.

In September 2019—during Mahomes’s ascension in the NFL—Aikman saw a post on X, known as Twitter at the time, and had to weight in. Why? The post stated, “Patrick Mahomes has thrown 36% of Troy Aikman’s career touchdowns, in about 8% of the games.”

Seeing this, Aikman took some exception to it and pointed out that he’s a three-time champion compared to Mahomes’s zero championships at the time.

“iCYMI: Talk to me when when he has 33% of my Super Bowl Titles,” Aikman wrote over four years ago.

As of Sunday night, however, Mahomes has claimed as many Super Bowl titles at age 28 as Aikman won during his entire Hall of Fame career. Naturally, fans and pundits had a field day when Aikman’s old post started making the rounds.
