Quandre Diggs Went Through All the Feels on Social Media After Being Cut by Seahawks
Seattle Seahawks safety Quandre Diggs confirmed a report Tuesday that he was released by the team in a series of social media posts that sum up exactly what it’s like to be fired from your job.
Six minutes before NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero broke the news that both he and safety Jamal Adams were being released, Diggs simply said “forever grateful” on X, formerly Twitter. He proceeded to have some fun at his own expense afterward and posted a gif from the iconic comedy Friday starring Ice Cube.
The movie follows Ice Cube’s character, Craig, who gets in and out of trouble after he was fired on his day off from work—something that has become a long-running joke in pop culture.
“Got fired on my day off. Damn,” Diggs said.
Diggs, 31, was a sixth round pick in 2015 when he was selected by the Detroit Lions and has been with the Seahawks since '19. He was selected to three Pro Bowls from 2020 to '22 while with Seattle. This past season, he tallied 95 tackles and one interception in his 17 starts.
