Saints’ Cam Jordan Makes Playful Free Agency Pitch to Chase Young
While players are flying off the board in NFL free agency, pass rusher Chase Young is taking his time going on visits to interested teams. The New Orleans Saints, Carolina Panthers and Tennessee Titans are reportedly among the teams that will host Young, and one of the Saints’ core leaders is making his pitch toward the coveted defensive end.
Cameron Jordan took to social media Tuesday afternoon to take a jab at the NFC South-rival Panthers and recruit Young simultaneously, arguing that there is no way Young could choose Carolina over New Orleans.
“Well we know it’s not the Panthers right!?” Young said. “Sooo make them rounds n come on down to the 504.”
The Panthers were the worst team in the league last year, while the Saints barely missed the playoffs despite finishing with a 9-8 record. Jordan’s pitch appears to be stressing how bad Carolina was in 2023.
Jordan continued to rib the Panthers by responding to former NFL linebacker Shawne Merriman, who said he would never sign in Carolina, with a simple, yet effective message.
Young reportedly will begin his visits later this week, giving him some time to make a decision. However, if it were up to Jordan, the decision would be an easy one.
