Josh Reynolds Headed to Denver Broncos on 2-Year Deal
Free agent wide receiver Josh Reynolds is signing with the Denver Broncos, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Wednesday. The 29-year-old is getting a two-year, $14 million deal.
Reynolds was the No. 2 option at wide receiver for the Detroit Lions last season, catching 40 passes for 608 yards and a touchdown. He was traded to Detroit by the Tennessee Titans in 2021 and provided a security blanket for quarterback Jared Goff. The two were familiar with each other, as they had previously been teammates with the Los Angeles Rams. Reynolds' last game with the team saw him drop one key pass and fail to reel in another in an NFC Championship Game loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Lions general manager Brad Holmes had publicly stated the team was hoping to re-sign the veteran wideout.
In his career, Reynolds has totaled 220 receptions, 2,933 yards and 19 touchdowns.
He'll now join a Broncos receiving room that includes Courtland Sutton, Marvin Mims Jr., and Tim Patrick. Jerry Jeudy was traded to the Cleveland Browns a few weeks ago, leaving an opening on the depth chart. Reynolds is not splashiest acquisition but he figures to be a reliable pair of hands for whichever quarterback wins the Broncos starting job this fall.
