As far as New York Giants legend Eli Manning is concerned, he and Patrick Mahomes are tied when it comes to championship rings.

According to any sports database, Mahomes technically bests Manning in Super Bowl wins with three to Manning’s two, having secured his third Lombardi Trophy this past season with the Kansas City Chiefs.

But Manning spiced up the competition on Wednesday when he posted a taunting message to the 28-year-old quarterback showing off his new bling: a championship ring from NWSL team Gotham FC.

“Hey Mahomes, you may have one more of these [Super Bowl rings] than me, but do you have one of these?” Manning said, holding up his Gotham FC ring. “I don’t think so. See you at the home opener.”

Manning became a minority owner of Gotham FC in August 2022 while Mahomes became a co-owner of Kansas City Current, his local NWSL team, in January 2023. Gotham, the reigning league champions, will play the Current at Red Bull Arena for the club’s regular season home opener on Sunday, April 14.

Manning said of his decision to join Gotham FC’s ownership group, “I have lived and worked in this community for almost two decades. It’s home to me, and Gotham FC is my family’s favorite soccer club. Combine that with the organization’s strong leadership, talented roster, and sustained growth, and it became clear that joining this great group was a fantastic opportunity.”
