Joe Burrow Had Blunt Message for Travis Kelce on Bengals-Chiefs Rivalry
The Kansas City Chiefs are the two-time, defending Super Bowl champions, but Joe Burrow remains confident in his Cincinnati Bengals' chances of defeating the AFC rival.
Burrow, when asked why the Bengals' games against the Chiefs have been so good, gave Kansas City its fair share of praise, before saying that the Bengals are "built to beat" the Chiefs during the New Heights live show with Jason and Travis Kelce on Thursday at the University of Cincinnati, according to Ben Baby of ESPN.
"I think we both work really hard at what we do,” Burrow said. “They have great players, we have great players. I think we match up pretty well with them. We’re kind of built to beat them."
Kansas City has won four of the last five AFC titles and three of the last five Super Bowls. The only team to defeat the Chiefs in the AFC championship game during that span?
Burrow's Bengals.
While it's a stretch to say that any team has the Chiefs' number, the Bengals certainly do seem to be the team best equipped to truly test them come playoff time.
To do so, the Bengals need Burrow, who appeared in just 10 games in 2023 after dealing with a right calf strain and a torn ligament in his wrist, to return to good health in 2024.
In four career NFL seasons, Burrow has completed 68 percent of his passes for 97 touchdowns and 37 interceptions while making the Pro Bowl in 2022.
Burrow and the Bengals are scheduled to travel to Arrowhead Stadium to take on the Chiefs in the 2024 regular season.
