Jets Released New Uniforms With Dramatic Video, and NFL Fans Were Very Confused

It doesn't look like the Jets changed much at all.

The New York Jets were arguably the NFL's most disappointing team in 2023, finishing 7-10 after Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles in Week 1. The organization has high hopes for next season though, as their All-Pro quarterback returns from injury. The Jets spent the first half of the offseason addressing their biggest weakness, the offensive line, and have the 10th pick in the 2024 NFL draft to further bolster the roster.

Additionally, they had some big plans for fresh threads. The Jets announced in February that they planned to release new uniforms ahead of the 2024 season and on Monday those new uniforms were revealed. And they look... pretty much the same?

They're clearly a little different but it's a whole lot of hoopla for what amounts to a minor update rather than a fresh look. The larger NFL community thought as much and expressed their confusion on X, formerly known as Twitter.

It is an NFL tradition to poke fun of the Jets, and clearly nobody wanted that opportunity to pass them by. The jokes will be fired off by the dozens. These are merely a hint of what's to come today.

In the team's mild defense, it's just about impossible to nail a jersey redesign or unveiling. If they go too far fans get upset about the drastic change. If they don't change enough, as in this case, then the social team gets hammered with memes about not changing anything at all. The sweet spot is tough to hit.

The Jets will debut these uniforms on the field in September. That will serve as the final referendum the new look.
