The Kansas City Chiefs made a significant splash at the 2024 NFL draft, trading up a few picks to No. 28 in order to grab a potentially key weapon for Patrick Mahomes. Late in the first round they snagged Texas' Xavier Worthy— a player who has previously caught the attention of the star quarterback.

In order to move up and land the speedy wideout, the Chiefs were able to negotiate a trade with a rather surprising partner: the Buffalo Bills.

The deal saw the Chiefs send picks No. 32, 95 and 221 to Buffalo in exchange for picks No. 28, 133 and 248.

In addition to their recent rivalry with Kansas City, which has resulted in multiple high-intensity playoff clashes, Buffalo was also anticipated to have interest in a wide receiver in the draft after trading Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans this offseason. Instead of picking one at No. 28. they opted to move back and allow Kansas City to get their guy in Worthy.

That decision from the Bills left NFL fans scratching their heads, and the football world weighed in on the draft day trade on social media.

The Bills weren't done, either. They They then traded pick No. 32 and pick No. 200 for picks No. 33 and 141 from the Carolina Panthers. Fans will have to wait until tomorrow to see what the master plan is in Buffalo.
