Travis Kelce has finally done something to give himself some financial security. The tight end has signed a two-year extension with the Kansas City Chiefs that will make him the highest paid player at his position in the NFL.

Kelce, a podcast host who is dating Taylor Swift, is a nine-time Pro Bowler who has been one of the most important players on three Super Bowl winning teams. His quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, tweeted about the new deal saying, "I told yall I'll never let him leave!! Congrats my guy!"

Kelce turns 34 this season. In 2023 he played 15 regular season games, caught 93 passes for 984 yards and scored five touchdowns. Pretty good numbers, but he truly shined in the postseason. In four playoff games Kelce caught 32 passes for 355 yards and three touchdowns as the Chiefs won their second straight Super Bowl and third in the last five seasons.

Kelce and Mahomes have been one of the best combinations in football history. Who knows how much longer Kelce will put his body through this, but the team now has Kelce for at least two more seasons. After that, who knows? He could walk away from public life, stick with podcasting, or join his brother Jason Kelce on ESPN.
