Gameday Live Blog Week 10: Seahawks vs. 49ers /

It's another primetime game on Monday night for the San Francisco 49ers who are playing host to division rival Seattle Seahawks. This is a game that is sure to reignite the fire that was once lit five years ago between these two teams. Now that the 49ers are relevant again, this game is sure to bring back that heat.Β

There has not been a more anticipated game this week than 49ers and Seahawks. San Francisco by far has the best defense in the league and they will have to uphold that reputation against MVP candidate Russell Wilson. Get your popcorn ready folks because this is going to be a memorable one.

We have you covered for today's primetime game at Levi's Stadium with updates and analysis. Join the conversation and give us your thoughts while this game plays outΒ Β

49ers inactives

Seahawks inactives

1st Quarter

15:00 - 49ers will take the ball first and see if they can get a leg up on the Seahawks

8:19 - It was a long drive that only comes away with three points for the 49ers. A lot of penalties on the Seahawks kept the drive alive as well as negating an interception. Russell Wilson will now get his first shot of the game.

Seahawks 0 49ers 3

6:17 - D.J. Jones introduces himself to Wilson by obliterating the center of the Seahawks for the sack. Three and out for Seattle.

2:03 - 49ers' offense picks apart Seattle's defense and finish their second offensive drive a touchdown. Garoppolo hits Kendrick Bourne for a 10 yard pass play.Β

Seahawks 0 49ers 10

:31 - You could not have asked for a better first quarter for the 49ers. Offense is scoring and the defense has forced two straight three and outs on the Seahawks.

End of the quarter

2nd Quarter

13:27 - Offense of the 49ers is finally contained and forced to punt. Seattle's defense settled down on the third offensive drive and will now look to get something going on offense.

10:39 - 49ers' defense has done a great jump keeping Russell Wilson in check. The Seahawks once again are forced to punt. They cannot find any consistency so far and Fred Warner is a big reason why.Β

Injury Update: WR Emmanuel Sanders has walked into the locker room for a rib injury

2:51 - Seattle's offense could not produce points, so their defense has decided to take it upon themselves. The pass rush gets to Garoppolo to force a fumble for the scoop-and-score. We officially have a ball game.

Seahawks 7 49ers 10

Injury Update: Center Weston Richburg has exited with an injury and judging from the actions on the sidelines, it doesn't appear he will rejoin this game. Big blow.

1:04 - Phenomenal play by Jaquiski Tartt who strips D.K. Metcalf at the two yard line to give the 49ers the possession. Big time play by Tartt who stopped the Seahawks from most likely going up 14-10.Β

Halftime Analysis: 49ers were saved at the end of the half by Tartt on the strip. Now they must regroup at halftime and figure out how to continue to drive on the Seahawks' defense. The pass rush has been getting to Garoppolo all night and they will appear to be without center Weston Richburg and WR Emmanuel Sanders.Β

On a positive note, the defense has contained Russell Wilson and their offense. Can they continue to hold on defense? You can only contain Wilson for so long before he explodes.

3rd Quarter

15:00 - Seattle will get the ball to open the second half. They will want to write their wrongs from their final offensive drive in the first half and make up for the lost touchdown.

12:01 - This defense of the 49ers cannot be stopped. They force another fumble. This time on running back Rashaad Penny. Seattle's offense continues to stagnate.Β

Injury Update: DL D.J. Jones and WR Emmanuel Sanders have been ruled out for the rest of the game.

10:00 - 49ers do nothing with the turnover from Seattle as they cannot convert on fourth down. Looked like a disconnect with Garoppolo and Deebo Samuel on the simple out-route.

7:15 - Fred Warner gets his second sack of the game and it is the third for the 49ers' defense on Wilson. All three sacks have come on third down. This defense has brought Wilson down to earth.Β

Seahawks 7 49ers 10

6:07 - Garoppolo is picked off due to the butter fingers of Kendrick Bourne. The tipped pass gets easily interecepted by safety Quandre Diggs

4:37 - Seattle's offense finally finds the endzone on a play-action play. Wilson connects with tight end Jacob Hollister to give the Seahawks the lead. The tipped interception hurts the 49ers and now they find themselves in a hole.

Seahawks 14 49ers 10

3:39 - Another fumble by Jimmy Garoppolo and the Seahawks recover. Garoppolo has not been pressured all day due to the poor play of Mike McGlinchey and Joe Staley. Clearly rust is a factor, but now the defense of the 49ers are in a tough position.

1:42 - And just like that the Seahawks are burying the 49ers. The turnovers have just been too much for this team to overcome. Still some time left in the game to turn it ahead, but they have to start on their next offensive drive. Lack of protection for Garoppolo has been the killer for this team.

Seahawks 21 49er 10

End of the quarter

4th Quarter

14:04 - 49ers don't turnover the ball, but don't do anything with it either. Forced to punt as time is against them right now.

12:01 - San Francisco is back in this game as they force a fumble of their own on Russell Wilson. Great heads up play by DeForest Buckner who takes it to the house. 49ers would then convert on the 2-point conversion. This game is everything we could ask for. Once again, the defense has done a great job to keep Wilson contained.

Seahawks 21 49ers 18

6:17 - 49ers threaten to score for a touchdown, but another drop from Kendrick Bourne forces the offense to settle for a field goal. Bourne's dropped pass was almost picked for the second time this game. The drops have been killing this offense more than the pass protection. At least the game is now tied, so the 49ers are back on equal footing.

Seahawks 21 49ers 21

Injury Update: K'Waun Williams and Matt Breida have sustained injuries. Williams is unknown, but it looks like Breida is out for the game.

2:00 - Two minute warning now with the Seahawks driving the field. They are just about in field goal range to clinch this game. 49ers need a stop now or they will suffer their first loss of the season tonight.

1:45 - 49ers do enough to limit the damage from the Seahawks. Seattle takes the lead and now it is on the offense of the 49ers to seal this game down by three. Can the offensive line protect Garoppolo enough so he can deliver?

:04 - The kick is good! 49ers tie the game on a field goal by Chase McLaughlin to take the game into overtime.

Seahawks 24 49ers 24

End of regulation

Overtime

10:00 - Seattle wins the coin toss and will elect to receive. The 49ers' defense has done great against Wilson. Can they keep it up?

5:34 - Picked off! Rookie linebacker Dre Greenlaw picks off Wilson and takes it as far as midfield to give the 49ers excellent field position. They just need a field goal to win the game now.

3:06 - 49ers were in a position to win the game on a field goal, but McLaughlin completely butchers the kick. Seattle will take over with a chance to win the game.

1:57 - Emmanuel Moseley has had a relatively strong game. He notches a pass defense against Metcalf to keep the Seahawks from converting on third down. 49ers will get the ball back in what will be their last chance to win the game. Or will it end in a tie?

1:25 - Unbelievable. 49ers go three and out to give the Seahawks another chance.

0:04 - Seattle hands the 49ers their first loss of the season as overtime expires on a game sealing field goal.

Final: Seahawks 27 49ers 24
