49ers Injury Report: Five Players to be Inactive Against the Commanders

The 49ers have ruled out five players, three of them impactful ones, when they play the Commanders in Week 17.

The final injury report for the 49ers against the Commanders is officially released.

Five players, three of them impactful ones, have been ruled out by the red and gold. Those players are DT Arik Armstead (foot, knee), S Ji’Ayir Brown (knee), TE Ross Dwelley (ankle), WR Jauan Jennings (concussion), T Jaylon Moore (concussion).

Armstead was expected to be out earlier this week, and will likely continue to be. The plantar fasciitis injury he suffered from last year has once again shown its ugly head. Armstead will continue to be a week-to-week update until the pain in his foot subsides. As for Jennings, this is the second straight game he is missing due to a concussion. This is now becoming worrisome for him. The 49ers will miss his tone setting presence once again.

Lastly, Brown sprained his knee against the Ravens, so there was no shot he was going to be active against the Commanders. Veteran Logan Ryan will fill the void in the meantime. It's unclear now, but I would suspect Brown will be toss up for the season finale against the Rams. The final two players, Dwelley and Moore, are depth pieces so their loss will only be felt if several players at their position sustains an injury in the game.

All of these injuries once again act as a reminder as to why clinching the No. 1 seed is crucial for the 49ers. Having that Bye week will be incredibly clutch for players to heal up and rest. Here are the 49ers given a questionable status against the Commanders.

G Aaron Banks (toe), LB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (illness), WR Danny Gray (shoulder), RB Jordan Mason (illness), CB Ambry Thomas (knee, hand)
