Why the 49ers are Setup to Start the Season 4-0

When it's all said and done, the 49ers should be 2-0 to start the regular season. But why stop there?

Week 2 is right on the doorstep for the 49ers and Rams to square off in Los Angeles.

The Rams will be looking to get their first regular season win over the 49ers since 2018. It's been a complete and utter domination from the 49ers against the Rams. And that is something that will continue this year.

I don't see any chance that the Rams pull the upset over the 49ers. Despite having an impressive win over the Seahawks in Seattle, the Rams are facing an actual elite team in the 49ers. When it's all said and done, the 49ers should be 2-0 to start the regular season. But why stop there?

The 49ers are actually set up to start the season 4-0 going into Week 5 against the Cowboys.

Their opponents until then are no better than average. Handling the Rams is in the 49ers' D.N.A. at this point, then they have to turn around on a short week to face the Giants who were embarrassed in Week 1. They suffered such a horrific loss at home to the Cowboys that there is a case to be made that they should fold as a franchise. There's no way the 49ers lose to them, especially since they have to go to Santa Clara on a short week.

After that, the 49ers will play host to the Arizona "tanking" Cardinals. Not much needs to be explained about why they will win that one. Arizona is competing hard for the No. 1 draft pick in April. They are starting a quarterback in Josh Dobbs who they barely acquired a few weeks ago. That's unheard of. Arizona is basically telling us they are tanking without actually telling us with that trade.

I think this is exactly what the NFL wanted. It's to have both the 49ers and Cowboys look monstrous in their first four games to make an already exciting matchup on Sunday Night Football in Week 5 stronger. They're certainly going to get their wish because the 49ers will be undefeated going into that game, which will only increase the electricity of that playoff caliber matchup.
