Agent Denies that Steelers are "Aggressively Pursuing" Brandon Aiyuk

Brandon Aiyuk's agent has been doing lots of damage control on social media recently.

First Aiyuk tweeted at Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, then Aiyuk unfollowed the 49ers on social media, which prompted speculation that he had requested a trade, something his agent quickly denied on Twitter.

This week, AllSteelers publisher Noah Strackbein reported that a source within the Steelers organization would be surprised if the 49ers don't trade Aiyuk to Pittsburgh this offseason. Then lots of analysts discussed the news.

Once again, Aiyuk's agent rushed in to set the record straight. But instead of addressing Strackbein's report directly, he addressed a commentary about the report that said the Steelers are "aggressively pursuing" Aiyuk, and said that couldn't be more incorrect.

Aiyuk's agent essentially is standing in front of a giant fire, waiving his arms back and forth over his head and telling people there's nothing to see here. Like we can't figure out that his client is displeased with the 49ers and enamored with the Steelers, or at least their head coach.

And Aiyuk's agent didn't address the original report, the one that said the Steelers would be surprised if they didn't land Aiyuk. I haven't seen anyone in the Steelers organization deny that one, and they would know what would surprise them and what wouldn't. It's possible they think they can get him without aggressively pursuing him, considering Aiyuk has pursued their head coach on Twitter.

Maybe Aiyuk will get traded and maybe he won't, but until the draft passes and he's still on the 49ers, it's anyone's guess what will happen.
