A late-week injury has the Bears facing the possibility of a change at starting cornerback.
Tyrique Stevenson is listed questionable for the game Monday night against the Vikings because of an ankle injury suffered Saturday at practice. He hadn't been injured prior to Saturday's practice and went through only a limited practice. Coach Matt Eberflus said he "tweaked" the ankle.
It's not the kind of injury they'd like to have while looking at the possibility injured wide receiver Justin Jefferson could return Monday night to the lineup and play for Minnesota.
Bears coach Matt Eberflus said during this past week backup cornerback Terell Smith had been given every third series for playing time against Detroit as he returned from a bout with mono last week. They did it mainly because the team liked what Smith had shown early in the season.
So Smith would be available to start if Stevenson can't go.
"Terell has looked good all the way back into training camp," Eberflus said.
Running back D'Onta Foreman is listed doubtful for Monday's game with the ankle injury he aggravated in Sunday's loss to the Detroit Lions. He went through a second straight limited practice on Saturday.
Roschon Johnson is the backup running back to Khalil Herbert without Foreman available.
Also doubtful is backup tackle Larry Borom due to illness.
Linebacker Noah Sewell is the only player ruled out because of injury. He has a knee injury that kept him out of last week's game, as well.
Center Lucas Patrick was removed from the injury report and is available to start. He had a back injury last week but returned to full practice both Friday and Saturday.
Also off the injury report is fullback Khari Blasingame, who had a shoulder injury two weeks ago but played last week and went through full practices this week.
Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson appears to be better and is listed questionable.
"We know that having Justin Jefferson out there gives us the best chance to win but the big picture with this player-he means the absolute world to me and this organization—we're going to do what's best for him," coach Kevin O'Connell told Minneapolis reporters.
