A Bears team in need of a little good news got some on Thursday when they got two players back for full practices who had been limited or out on Wednesday.

However, there was no change in the status of safety Eddie Jackson and considering the opponent this week this could mean real trouble.

Jackson's foot injury hasn't allowed him to practice Wednesday or Thursday despite the fact coach Matt Eberflus said both Sunday and Monday the injury news is positive on his veteran safety.

If Jackson can't go Sunday, Elijah Hicks would make his third career start.

The positives are slot cornerback Josh Blackwell returned for his first full practice since suffering a hamstring injury and missing practice time as well as the game last week. The Bears used practice squad player Greg Stroman Sunday as their starter at nickel back.

The starter who returned was center Lucas Patrick, who had been out on Wednesday due to illness.

The Bears also announced quarterback Nathan Peterman had been signed back to the roster, which leaves open to announcement yet who the backup quarterback will be behind Justin Fields. So far Peterman had done it each game but with his contract terminated and then bringing him back, it's possible he could remain the backup or Tyson Bagent could take the role.

A new injury was edge rusher Khalid Kareem limited with a hip issue. Both Marcedes Lewis and Nate Davis were given the day off. Davis had a death in the family late last week and missed Sunday's game. Lewis usually gets Thursday as a veteran's day off.

Wide receiver Darnell Mooney's status remained unchanged as he was able to practice on a limited basis desite a knee injury.

For Kansas City, wide receiver Kadarius Toney remained an problem by missing practice for the second straight day with a toe injury.

Linebacker Nick Bolton (ankle) and wide receiver Richie James (knee) both missed a second straight day.

Cornerback L'Jarius Sneed, who has a knee injury, returned for a full practice after being limited on Wednesday while linebacker Willie Gay also was limited (quad) after missing Wednesday practice.
