Coaching Staff for Bears Has Familiar Look

Dave Borgonzi returns as Bears linebackers coach as staff takes on a familiar look to last year.
In this story:

The Bears will have almost the entire coaching staff back as started in 2022.

They have retained linebackers coach Dave Borgonzi after the Cardinals hired Eagles linebackers coach Nick Rallis as defensive coordinator on Saturday. Borgonzi had been reported by ESPN as a candidate for the position.

Bears offensive line assistant Austin King had been reported by NFL Network as a candidate for the Rams offensive line coaching position but Ryan Wendell was hired by Sean McVay for that job.

This means there were only a few changes.

Jon Hoke, the former Bears DB coach under Lovie Smith and Marc Trestman, takes over as cornerbacks coach and defensive passing game coordinator. Bears defensive backs coach James Rowe had committed to going back to South Florida late last season as a defensive backs coach.

The only other changes not involved with administration or strength training are at quality control, where Zach Cable joins the staff as a new offensive quality control coach and former offensive quality control assistant Omar Young shifts over to a new position as assistant quarterbacks and receivers coach.
