Bengals Could Win AFC North and Still Have to Play Wild Card Round Game on Road Against Ravens

NFL owners will vote on the possibility on Friday.

CINCINNATI — The NFL announced that the Bengals' Week 17 matchup against the Bills won't be resumed.

They also revealed potential playoff scenarios that league owners will vote and could potentially approve on Friday.

The Bengals are 11-4 on the season and even if they lose to the Ravens in Week 18, will win the AFC North for a second consecutive season for the first time in team history.

Despite that, there's a scenario where Cincinnati doesn't host a playoff game in the Wild Card round.

If the Ravens beat the Bengals on Sunday, Cincinnati would have a higher winning percentage, but since they've only played 16 games and would've been swept by Baltimore, the league is open to having a coin toss to determine who would have home field in a potential playoff rematch.

This is only valid if the Bengals ended up playing the Ravens in the postseason. The site for the game would be determined by a coin toss.

Cincinnati won't have an issue if they beat Baltimore on Sunday. If they lose, they could end up going on the road for the Wild Card round of the playoffs, despite winning the division.

NFL owners will vote on the possibility on Friday. For more details, check out the leagues official statement here
