Bengals Right Tackle Trent Brown Discusses Competition With Amarius Mims

CINCINNATI — Trent Brown isn't sweating a potential right tackle battle with Amarius Mims as the veteran gets ready to make a complete return to practice this week.

Brown likely won't play in the preseason, but the new Bengals offensive lineman is ready to get fully back to work after signing with Cincinnati in the offseason.

"About that time," Brown said on Monday. "We about a month out now, gotta get in some type of football shape with us being a month away from our first game. So I'm just following protocol."

Protocol has him battling Mims out for the starting spot as the veteran looks to be a missing piece to Cincinnati's Super Bowl puzzle. Brown is entering his tenth NFL season.

"It'll play out," Brown said about the position battle. "It'll play itself out. I'm not worried."
