Buffalo Bills Safety Damar Hamlin Released From Hospital
CINCINNATI β University of Cincinnati Medical Center announced on Monday that Bills safety Damar Hamlin is getting released from the hospital in Cincinnati and is flying back home to Buffalo.
It coincided with Zac Taylor's press conference, and the Bengals head coach was ecstatic to hear the surprise news.
Yeah, that's unbelievable," Taylor said in his Monday press conference. "I was just upstairs talking to somebody about when that would be.
Hamlin made major progress over the weekend after suffering from cardiac arrest during the first quarter of last week's canceled game against Buffalo.
He now goes into care with a different medical team in Buffalo.
"Doctors say that Hamlin was transferred to the facility in Buffalo directly from intensive care," ESPN's Coley Harvey tweeted. "He was, however, considered in good condition by the doctors when the transfer took place, and did not get moved into another unit while at UC Medical."
Buffalo already placed him on injured reserve, so he will not play the rest of this season. Doctors did not rule out a return to football for Hamlin in their long-form update last week, but that's not imminent in the coming weeks.
Cincinnati and Baltimore run it back in the Wild Card round on Sunday at 8:15 p.m. ET on NBC. The game is available on NBC via fuboTVβstart your free trial here.
