Bengals Fans Chime in on Penei Sewell vs Ja'Marr Chase Debate
CINCINNATI — The debate about who the Bengals should take with the fifth pick is heating up and the NFL Draft less than one month away.
A large segment of the fan base wants Oregon offensive tackle Penei Sewell, which at least on the surface, makes sense. Protecting Joe Burrow needs to be their number one priority this offseason.
There is a growing belief that Burrow's former teammate Ja'Marr Chase would be the better selection. He's a legitimate No. 1 wide receiver and the duo dominated their competition in 2019 en route to a national championship.
Taking Chase wouldn't eliminate the need for offensive line help, but the Bengals could take advantage of a deep tackle class and draft one in round two.
A recent poll showed how close the debate is between fans. Check it out below.
Note: You can vote in the poll until April 3.
