ESPN's Dan Orlovsky Says Chicago Bears Should Trade For Tee Higgins

The head scratching has begun early in the NFL offseason.

CINCINNATI — Silly season has begun in the NFL.

ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky tweeted at the Chicago Bears saying the team should trade for Tee Higgins.

Higgins is under contract in 2023 and can be franchise tagged in 2024 as well. All indications point to the Bengals getting an extension offer on the table for him before even thinking about trade possibilities.

The receiver is rolling with the NFL off-season punches.

Orlovsky didn't expand on why he randomly put that out there, but the dots aren't hard to connect.

Dov Kleiman misrepresented an article in The Athletic Friday on Twitter saying: "Report: Bengals WR Tee Higgins 'could be traded' for a top draft pick if the team can't reach an extension with him and the money he's asking for is 'outrageous.'"

That last part is misleading. Here is the exact snippet from Paul Dehner Jr.'s article:

"If the numbers are outrageous and it’s clear the two sides won’t see eye to eye, the Bengals could go the route taken by multiple teams in recent seasons and deal the receiver for a top draft pick and start the cycle over with a rookie receiver."

None of that reports Higgins has made any money demands, let alone outrageous ones.
