Ja’Marr Chase Weighs in on Justin Jefferson's Contract Talks With Vikings
CINCINNATI — Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase is keeping an eye on his buddy Justin Jefferson's contract extension negotiations as Jefferson could soon become the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL.
Chase is looking for his old LSU teammate to set his market.
“I hope he sets the market for me," Chase told the media on Thursday. "That's what I'm hoping he does, but other than that congratulations to what he has going on. Proud of him, congratulations brother.
Miami's Tyreek Hill is currently the NFL's highest-paid receiver per average annual value ($30 million). San Francisco's Nick Bosa just blew past the next highest-paid non-quarterback with a $34 million AAV as an edge rusher.
Chase has a strong case to crack $35 million in AAV on his second Bengals contract if Jefferson slots above Bosa.
