Look: Bengals Two-Face Performance Against Commanders Makes NFL History

If Cincinnati can field a below average defense, as opposed to flat awful, this team will turn things around.

CINCINNATI — The Bengals set NFL history on Monday night by pairing an elite offensive performance with arguably the worst defensive showing in the NFL this season.

According to NFL researcher Dante Koplowitz-Fleming, The 38-33 loss to Washington made Cincinnati the first team in league history to lose a game with four-plus touchdowns, zero punts, and zero turnovers.

Teams were 26-0 in league history with those numbers (Now 27-1 with Commanders matching it), but Cincinnati found a way to lose and fall to 0-3. They profile like a top-10 team by efficiency so far this season, but are among the three worst NFL records.

The season isn't over given how well the Bengals offense is playing, but they have to start stacking wins soon to crack the AFC Playoff race at the end.
