In this story:

CINCINNATI — Mike Hilton has plenty of experience against the Cleveland Browns during his time in Cincinnati and spoke to the importance of Sunday's road win in the postgame locker room.

It was the first Bengals win in Cleveland since 2017.

“It means a lot," Hilton said after the 21-14 victory. "Over my four years here, we haven’t beat them here in Cleveland. For us to do that, get an AFC North win. It’s a big step."

Hilton has been stellar against the run this season, ranking first among all NFL cornerbacks with an 88.8 PFF run-defense grade on 112 snaps. He sits at 65.9 overall on PFF's grading system.

“You tell me," Hilton said about the defense improving. "Because, for the first five weeks, I’m pretty sure everybody’sidea was, ‘This defense can’t get it together.' We’ve been playing well the last two weeks. I like the direction we’re headed, but we still gotta get better ... Keep on stacking. A lot of people outside this locker room already counted us out. We’re not where we wanna be, but we’re building. And we know we just gotta keep getting better and playing good football."
