Not Just Joe: Burrow Has Company, Two Bengals QBs Among Most Efficient in Preseason Week 1
CINCINNATI — Joe Burrow shined in the Bengals' preseason opener against the Buccaneers, completing 5-of-7 passes for 51 yards and one touchdown. He was only on the field for one drive and made the most of it.
It was reasonable to expect Burrow to be one of the most efficient quarterbacks in Week 1 of the preseason and he was—posting a 0.62 rating according to Warren Sharp.
That isn't surprising. What is surprising is where third-string quarterback Logan Woodside ended up. He was the sixth-most efficient quarterback (0.42) this week.
Woodside finished 8-of-12 for 149 yards and one touchdown. He connected with rookie wide receiver Jermaine Burton on two long passes, including a 37-yard touchdown.
It's only one preseason game and Jake Browning is locked in as the Bengals' backup quarterback, but it was good to see Woodside make a positive impact.
