PFF Names Bengals as a Top Landing Spot For Former Texans Tight End Dalton Schultz

Cincinnati doesn't have any tight ends under contract as of this writing.

CINCINNATI — The Bengals are entering the offseason with no tight ends under contract and one top free agent for them is former Texans tight end Dalton Schultz.

PFF's Brad Spielberger has Cincinnati and New England as his top fits after a season with 59 catches for 635 receiving yards and five touchdowns.

"Tanner Hudson quietly carved out a meaningful role in the Bengals' offense over the second half of the season as an underneath pass catcher, with his 35 receptions, five forced missed tackles, and 19 first downs from Week 9 onward all ranking as top-15 marks among tight ends," Spielberger wrote. "Nevertheless, Hudson and Irv Smith Jr. are free agents, so Cincinnati once again has a talent void at the position. Capitalizing on a depressed tight-end market in free agency could be wise."

Bringing Hudson back feels like a no-brainer after he was one of the best value players on the team in 2023. Pairing him with Schultz and a possible return from a solid blocker in Drew Sample could be a nice way to build out the position group.
