Playoff Picture: Cincinnati Takes Control Of AFC North Destiny
CINCINNATI — After a wild week of games in the NFL, Cincinnati has taken its first outright lead in the AFC North this season. Sunday's 34-23 win over Tampa Bay moved the Bengals to 10-4 and into the No. 3 seed in the AFC.
The Ravens fell to Cleveland 13-3 on Saturday night and the Bengals took full advantage to lead the division by one game. If Cincinnati wins their final three games, they enter the playoffs as the No. 2 seed, or No. 1 with at least one loss by Kansas City.
The Texans almost pulled off the miracle Cincinnati needs to control its one-seed path, but KC held on 30-24 to win as 14-point favorites.
According to FiveThirtyEight, the Bengals have a 99% chance to make the playoffs and a 60% chance to win the AFC North. With a Jets loss on Thursday, Cincinnati gets it's playoff ticket punched.
Next up for Cincinnati is New England on the road this Saturday. The Patriots have lost three of their past four games after falling to Las Vegas this week.
A win on Sunday locks up a playoff spot and boosts the division chances to 72%.
