Report: Colts Starting Joe Flacco Against Giants in Week 17 For Injured Anthony Richardson
CINCINNATI — Backup quarterbacks are starting to surface for teams the Bengals need to lose over the final two weeks. Multiple reports noted the Colts won't have Anthony Richardson (back/foot) starting on Sunday against the Giants. Joe Flacco is taking his place after playing in six games this season.
Flacco replaced a benched Richardson at mid-season, but quickly lost the job after poor play (72.7 passer rating, 2-4 TD-INT ratio in two starts. The Colts are still significant favorites in a game over arguably the worst team in the NFL.
The Dolphins look unlikely to have their quarterback as well in a matchup against a team that has a strong worst-case. Tua Tagovailoa is doubtful against Cleveland in a game where the Dolphins are also still big favorites. The miracle is still in play for the Bengals, but they have to topple Denver and Pittsburgh first.
