Willie Anderson Named 2023 Pro Football Hall Of Fame Finalist
CINCINNATI — The Bengals have a chance to make all kinds of history in 2023.
Former Bengals All-Pro tackle Willie Anderson just joined Ken Riley as a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame's 2023 class. The Board of Selectors' 50 final votes get tallied on Jan. 17.
Anderson joined the list of 15 2023 finalists, while Riley made the list of three senior finalists in August. Both are two of the greatest players to ever play their positions, with Riley being the only member of the top-five career interception club not in the HOF.
Meanwhile, Anderson mauled edge rushers for 13 NFL seasons, amassing the first back-to-back-to-back First-Team All-Pro streak by a right tackle since the 1970s (2004-06).
He also outduels the greatest talents playing talent by sacks allowed.
The Bengals' only HOF member is Anthony Muñoz (1998). Cincinnati has never had two finalists in the same year.
Anderson has a great case to earn football's highest recognition and enshrinement into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
