CINCINNATI —  Geno Stone is still getting used to the new defensive language in the Lou Anarumo Bengals defense, but it's not a huge learning curve for the NFL's second-leading interception artist in 2023.

Cincinnati's new safety dove into the process on Monday.

"It's kind of similar to what we did in Baltimore and everyone has different things with their defense," Stone said. "My thing is to come in and learn what they do and apply it to my game as best as I can. I'm just ready to get here. Get with Joe, the guys, all the safeties, and be able to communicate with everybody in the secondary, so I'm trying to have a big year."

Stone is forming a new-look safety unit that's anyone's guess as to who will be the final starters in a few months. It's safe to say he'll play a big role if his 2023 campaign is any indication of what's next in his career.

"Just ready for the opportunity," Stone said about Cincinnati. "Thankful, grateful for everything. I got my iPad already. So already going over the playbook and everything like that. Just trying to learn as much as I can."
