Zac Taylor Dives Into Trent Brown Entering Training Camp on NFI: 'Just Trying to be Smart'

Cincinnati just signed the tackle to a one-year deal.

CINCINNATI — New Bengals right tackle Trent Brown went on the Active/Non-Football Injury list ahead of training camp for an undisclosed reason Tuesday and head coach Zac Taylor addressed the situation in his opening press conference.

Brown is expected to have a major role in protecting Joe Burrow this offseason.

“He had some tightness. Just trying to be smart, especially with some of these veteran guys," Taylor told the media on Wednesday. "Give him a chance to get with the trainer. Who knows how many days, it could be a couple days and see where he is at."

The veteran tackle has battled plenty of injuries in his past. He's played a full season just once since 2019 and missed six games in 2023.
