CINCINNATI — Bengals legend A.J. Green is retiring. He made the announcement on Monday afternoon.

The former fourth overall pick spent the first 10 seasons of his career in Cincinnati, setting plenty of franchise and NFL records.

Green played for the Cardinals for the past two seasons.

He finishes his career with 727 receptions for 10,514 yards and 70 touchdowns. Injuries derailed the final few years of his career, but he was one of the best players in Bengals' history during his prime.

Green became the only receiver since the 1970 merger to start his career with seven consecutive Pro Bowls (2011-17). He's the only player in Bengals' history to make the Pro Bowl in each of his first seven seasons.

He's second in Bengals history in multiple receiving categories including receptions (649), yards (9,430) and touchdowns (65).
