Cincinnati Bengals Officially Sign Alex Cappa, Release Center Trey Hopkins

CINCINNATI — The Bengals officially signed right guard Alex Cappa on Friday. They also released veteran center Trey Hopkins. 

Cappa, 27, is entering his fifth season. He spent the first four years of his career in Tampa Bay. 

Meanwhile, the Bengals saved nearly $6 million in cap space when they released Hopkins. It's unclear if they'd be interested in bringing him back on a less expensive contract, but he's officially a free agent.
