Bengals Star Defensive Tackle DJ Reader Expected to Land on Injured Reserve
CINCINNATI — Bengals defensive tackle DJ Reader is expected to land on injured reserve after suffering a knee injury in Cincinnati's Week 3 win over the New York Jets.
Reader went down in the second quarter and didn't return.
The 28-year-old is expected to miss "a month-plus" with a left knee injury according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.
Sources tell All Bengals that the team plans on placing Reader on injured reserve, which would mean he would miss at least four games.
Cincinnati has six games between now and their Week 10 bye. They're hoping Reader can return before then, but it's far from guaranteed and he could be out until the bye.
The good news is that the injury isn't expected to be season-ending and Reader should return at some point later in the year.
Kelsey Conway of the Cincinnati Enquirer was the first to report that Reader would miss extended time.
