Report: Bengals 'Willing to Listen' to Trade Offers for Tee Higgins
CINCINNATI — Will the Bengals trade Tee Higgins? At least one NFL insider believes Cincinnati could still entertain a trade for the 25-year-old wide receiver.
"He wants out, he has made the trade request. I talked to a few teams who are interested who believe that the Bengals are at least willing to listen," ESPN's Jeremy Fowler said on Sportscenter. "That's a little softer than they might have been a year ago where they definitely were not trading him. So, teams are going to try to pry him out. New England's been high-end shopping for receiver help, perhaps they try to give up a Day 2 pick to get Higgins."
The Bengals may be open to a Higgins trade, but moving him for a day two pick in the 2024 NFL Draft is unlikely. They value Higgins and are comfortable paying him $21.8 million. The star receiver knows he may have to play on the franchise tag this season.
The Bengals used the tag on him last month. He requested a trade before the start of the new league year. Cincinnati is certainly operating like Higgins will be on the roster this season. They re-signed Trenton Irwin, but they haven't made any significant moves at wide receiver.
There will be speculation about a trade, but history says they'll keep him and make him play on the tag unless the Bengals can get significant value for Higgins.
