Chargers Hiring Jim Harbaugh, AFC Arms Race Continues
CINCINNATI — A tough AFC just got even harder. The Chargers are hiring Jim Harbaugh to be their next head coach.
Harbaugh led Michigan to a National Championship earlier this month and three-straight appearances in the College Football Playoff. Now he'll try to win a Super Bowl with Justin Herbert.
The Bengals play the Chargers in Los Angeles next season. Harbaugh returns to the NFL after posting a 44-19 record with the 49ers from 2011-14. He led San Francisco to a Super Bowl and three NFC Championship Game appearances.
