Cincinnati Bengals Cornerback Mike Hilton Reacts to Michael Carter II's New Contract
CINCINNATI — Cornerback Michael Carter II agreed to a three-year, $30.75 million extension with the Jets on Tuesday night.
Carter, 25, becomes the NFL's highest-paid nickel cornerback from an average salary per year basis.
Bengals cornerback Mike Hilton is entering the final year of his contract. It sounds like he was happy for Carter and probably happy for the nickel cornerback market as a whole.
Hilton reacted to the contract with a gif of Kevin Hart on Twitter/X. It does seem like an extension with the veteran is unlikely—at least before the season, but that doesn't mean the Bengals won't re-sign him after the 2024 campaign.
Check out the gif below and watch a 1-on-1 interview I did with Hilton before training camp here.
